If you thought fall was prime time for big muskies then check out these summertime trophies. August was a big month for big fish
The International Musky Symposium sponsored by Muskies Canada and put together by the Ottawa Chapter happened in August. As part of that event we were very lucky to have a European delegation from Sweden. The boys just wanted to catch their first musky but instead scored a 12 pack of sensational fish and left with a suitcase of pictures, smiles, and giggles.
The Musky Boys stopped by for their annual Ottawa River adventure and it was a truly amazing trip. Two days on the river produced nine muskies including several fish of a lifetime candidates. Christian and Fred had just returned from guiding 75 days in a row for lesser species of fish in Northern Manitoba (all non-muskies are lesser species…..). Good casters catch WAY more fish than inexperienced ones and these boys are good. They also produced the video of the year capturing a SEVEN fish day that included two super tankers and a double header. Check it out at

Btw, the oh-so-cool necklace that Christian is wearing is homemade and proudly displays his new and growing collection of turkey spurs. I think I want one…..
Finally my favourite vet and fellow U of Guelph alumni Kent Rozon with yet another fish of a lifetime pic for his overstuffed photo album.
August rocks so you don’t have to wait until it gets cool, cold, or frozen to get your trophy. You can do it in shorts and you can even fit an afternoon nap into every day. I do.
