If you read my post on cold fronts and high pressure a few weeks ago then you know rubber is way to go.
Shadzillas are a very hot commodity in the musky world and beyond these days. They are an easy to throw lifelike swim bait. Swim baits have become a mainstay for many species and it just makes sense that they work on muskies. The colours on these baits are vivid and the bait has a much higher hooking percentage than many big bodied soft plastics as it is hollow and collapses down to expose hook points better.
The blue skies and high pressure require special tactics and tenacity usually. This is my new friend Samir with his first super fish. It took all of twenty minutes casting in the morning on one of the hottest days of the year. The colour pattern on this fish is special on the O as well. It is rare and beautiful. What a magnificent girl she is.
And what’s better after a big musky than a nap, right Samir….
Thank you Mike and Mark for your hard work and funny stories. I admire your energy and enthusiasm and it was a pleasure to share a boat with you all.

ps The little creature hanging off the top of the musky is a seven year old silver lamprey.
