I was trolling (a rarity….) a couple weeks back and while I stared into the water off the starboard side of the boat I saw what looked like the back end of a Legend Plow waving back and forth in the current about a foot under the water. When we doubled back that’s exactly what it was.
I manouvered the boat so my guest could grab it and exclaimed ‘I have heard of people finding the rod and reel attached to the lure but it has never happened to me’. I should have added ‘yet’ because that is exactly what happened.
I am guessing the setup stayed attached to the bottom and finally the hooks rusted off the lure and set it free to rise to where it could be seen.
If this is yours, I have to tell you that two or three years underwater didn’t do your outfit a lot of good. You can claim it by telling me what colour the $100 plow is/was under the dirt and what the numbers are on the Tekota line counter…….
In the modern day the loss of your going-on-a-thousand dollar rod and reel can be prevented by the use of trolling lanyards. My good friend and fix anything guy Ross Nicholls makes some excellent ones and Pro Tackle sells them online as well. Say hi to Stacy Ash for me if you order some.
