I don’t make it a habit to post other peoples fish but this fish is worth seeing.
As you know, The Musky Factory has been taking some impressive muskies on the fly at the end of the season for a few years now. It is indeed something special and unique in the fishing world and interesting to see more fly guys try for the elusive trophy muskellunge.
What is neat about the Ottawa River is that I believe flies have an advantage on many end of the season days because of their ability to rest almost neutrally buoyant or sink very slowly and this presentation is a natural for muskies. This is a presentation that jerkbait specialists have been keying in on for years by adding weight to their Suicks, Leo’s, Reefhawgs and the like. I honestly think we have a shot at landing a 30 lb musky on many days in the fall with a real world chance at 40+.
That said, this new world record from November 10th on Mille Lacs in Minnesota is going to be hard to beat. 57 x 26.5. Congratulations guys. What a fish.
